How the Supply Chain North East Project helped me…

We spoke to Gateshead-based, Bactalogical, who provide industry leading certified products for the disinfection of commercial properties, about their involvement with the Supply Chain North East Project.

Here’s what Managing Director, Phil White had to say…

Q. When did you initially become part of the Supply Chain programme?

A. Having spotted a series of sales workshops available to North East SMEs on social media, I was keen to find out more. Prior to this, I had not been aware of the SCNE programme or the work of NEPIC, so it was great to find out more and get involved.

How has Supply Chain helped your business so far?

The SCNE programme has enabled me to focus more on certain areas of the business that I had been overlooking due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

When we first established the business, we focused on water treatment and automotive antibacterial products, however, these areas of the business were affected by the pandemic. We had to quickly diversify our business
by focusing our attention back onto sanitisation of hands, face and touch-point service. This in turn forced us to refocus on our long-term strategy.

Would you recommend the programme to other businesses?

I certainly would recommend the programme to other businesses. I found it very useful and used the support provided to refresh my thinking, learn new ideas and develop new content.

What recent developments / successes has your company attained?

As a result of being involved in this programme, we have gained new clients in the transport, haulage, and automotive sectors which we are delighted with. We have also gained certification of two products that we have developed – one for single use sanitiser vehicles and the second, a thermal fog sanitiser. This has put us in a fantastic position to grow and expand the business going forward.
