Mark Appleyard formed Petrochemical Logistics Sustainability Solutions (PLSS), based on Teesside to provide support to organizations with supply chain and logistics challenges as they strive for sustainability. PLSS acts as a Consultant Safety Advisor particularly in the handling of dangerous goods (DGSA), as required by ADR/CDG to several Teesside and other international manufacturers, and is also a European Chemical Industry Council (CEFIC) Assessor where he is the only UK based assessor of logistics service providers under the SQAS Scheme.
In addition to a significant background in industry PLSS also brings consultancy experience and knowledge having worked in the government sector, managing major industrial city / free zone projects and feasibility studies in the Middle East; an award winning safe construction of manufacturing and logistics facilities in China; and leading a task force or an major international industry association developing a persuasive case, and engaging stakeholders to implement dangerous goods regulations in the Gulf Region.
