Alpek Polyester UK Ltd is part of Alpek Polyester, which is the global integrated polyester based business unit of Alpek, S.A.B. de C.V, a publicly traded company listed on the Mexican Stock Exchange.
Alpek is a global leader in the production of PTA (Terephthalic Acid), PET Resins and PET Recycling (rPET), Specialty Polymers; Polyester Staple Fiber (PSF) and Polyester Filament (DTY). The acquisition of the PET assets in Wilton International strengthened the Alpek Polyester brand and expanded the global reach of the Alpek Polyester businesses into the UK and the EU.
The business at Wilton services around 75% of the UK market with the PET chip produced being used mainly in bottling carbonated soft drinks, water and food packaging.
It is fully compliant with European, USA Food Contact and Pharmacopeia legislation and is one of the world's most sustainable packaging materials.
