Founded in 1922, the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) is the UK based and internationally recognised qualifying body and learned society for chemical, biochemical, and process engineers. IChemE advances chemical engineering’s contribution for the benefit of society, and we support our members in applying their expertise and experience to make an influential contribution to solving the major Global Grand Challenges.
We set the standard for chemical engineering and process safety through a range of membership grades, registrations, publications, and training for those seeking to improve their professional status, enhance their knowledge and learning, and network with peers. We are the only organisation permitted to award the widely recognised Chartered Chemical Engineer title and Professional Process Safety Engineer registration.
