Job Description
Job title: Sustainability Executive
Contract type: Full time, permanent
Salary: £25,000-£30,000 per year depending on qualifications/experience (plus pension)
Location: Sunderland or Wilton Centre – Teesside with hybrid working available

The Purpose of this New Role
The Sustainability Executive will join NEPIC (North East of England Process Industry Cluster) to help drive forward sustainability in the North East process industries, with a focus on circular economy, sustainable chemicals, decarbonisation and fuel switching. The purpose of this role is to support NEPIC members with their sustainability goals, by understanding key sectoral trends, nascent technologies and innovations, opportunities for collaboration and joint working, as well as identifying the potential for inward investment. This will support NEPIC’s wider activities in clean growth, helping drive the process industries towards net zero.
Our Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will be a degree qualified scientist or engineer. Our ideal candidate is an individual with a passion for sustainability, circular economy, and clean growth. Relevant Industrial/sector experience or post-graduate qualifications are desired. The candidate should have an engaging and enthusiastic personality and highly developed analytical skills, together with the ability to prioritise between competing priorities. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders is important, as NEPIC has a wide reaching and varied membership. The nature of the role requires the successful candidate to collaborate within a team and as an individual, proactively using their initiative. The candidate will also be expected to travel within the North East region and visit manufacturing sites.
