Points I missed & key points below 👇👇👇👇
I found the whole day very insightful. Great to see the capability in the North East UK as always.
I spoke about how we can navigate frontiers and consolidate value chains. By embracing the power of asset management we can collaborate seamlessly across industries. See attached photo’s and key visuals.
Key points in the presentation:
1️⃣ We are witnessing, we are in, we have Industry 4.0 on our doorstep and on our watch. The world is now looking at the North East UK as a place for investment.
2️⃣ We put words and numbers on things such as; ‘millions’, ‘billions’, ‘thousands’, ‘global’ – these are necessary for qualifying and quantifying – but shouldn’t give a negative or worrying perception of complexity. If we embrace Asset Management frameworks, strategies and processes; scale, size, logistics are simply factors within the Asset Management System.
3️⃣ The Value Chain & Asset Management in the scope of ISO 55000, includes two key stakeholder groups; Investors and Consumers. These form ‘Book-Ends’, of the cost of energy section, of the energy and power value chain.
Look for the ‘Book-Ends’ in the value chain and where you fit within it. This will indicate who to collaborate with to influence investment decision making.
4️⃣ Opportunity and Threat is the stress on the grid and current infrastructure to transport energy, power and fuels. More reason to collaborate and forecast this need for future investment. This was mentioned within the transmission and distribution section of the value chain.
5️⃣ Mega-trend 6: Sustaining Delivery Capability; in summary the Human Asset. It all stems towards STEM. £1.5bn is lost UK wide due to the shortage of STEM skills and capability (Stemfoundation.org.uk). We are expecting over half billion in investment up to 2029 in the Tees Valley and 28,000 jobs. 20,000 jobs in Teesworks alone (TVCA). We have a STEM skills shortage in the North East and we have to get this right. There is only 1 University Technical College (UTC) in the North East North East STEM Foundation. There are zero in the Tees Valley – There can’t be a Net Zero Teesside, with Zero UTC’s.
We are facing down one of the biggest opportunities arguably in our history. We have a huge opportunity to collaborate and work together.
Forecast the infrastructure, investment, skills needed and endorse UTC’s working with Tania Cooper MBE and Michelle Henderson. Two great leaders and STEM ambassadors.
Thanks again for Team NEPIC!
