The F2 Chemicals site is home to the manufacture of a range of fluorinated speciality chemicals. F2 Chemicals utilise their ability to manufacture elemental fluorine on demand to manufacture a wide range of high purity perfluorinated fluids, with properties including excellent thermal stability, chemical inertness, electrical resistivity and gas solubility. These chemicals be used in a wide range of industries that includes amongst others: oil, gas and atmospheric tracing; building management; semiconductor manufacture; medical applications; and dielectric fluids for cooling high powered electronics. F2 Chemicals also have the technology to carry out Selective Direct Fluorination utilising elemental fluorine and organic compounds, manufacturing products including SF5 compounds and fluorinated ketoesters.
The site visit will include a short introductory talk about the company, as well as the products and their industrial uses and the manufacturing process, followed by a tour of the manufacturing site, focusing on the reaction and purification stages.
