We want to hear your views!
The newspapers are full of stories about male mental health, the gender pay gap, the intensification of domestic abuse during lockdown, and the idea that increased pandemic-related childcare pressures have set women’s equality back a generation.
We are seeking to find out more about the extent to which businesses and organisations in the North East are addressing gender equality issues in the workplace, and how these have been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
The survey is being carried out by Dr Stephen Burrell, a researcher in the Department of Sociology at Durham University, in collaboration with Changing Relations, a North East-based Community Interest Company who deliver arts-based education and training that challenges thinking about gender stereotypes and healthy relationships.
Whatever your business is doing in relation to gender equality – even if it’s nothing currently – we would really appreciate hearing your views. We want to hear from you.
The survey will only take 10-15 minutes to complete and closes at 23.59 on Sunday 20th December 2020. Please follow the link below to take part:

We will disseminate our findings in a report in early 2021 and would love all those who engage in this research to join us in a webinar where we will share our findings and ask “What next…?” for the North East business community.
Thanks so much for taking the time to help us build a picture of gender equality in the North East workplace.
With all good wishes,
Dr Stephen Burrell and Changing Relations
