Read more >On the 7th of April 2022, NEPIC partnered with Newcastle University in hosting an event to showcase the impressive range of high-spec analytical equipment on offer to local companies.
This face-to-face event, held at the newly created Boiler House events space, brought together over 50 people from local industry, small businesses and academia. Technical experts from across the SAgE (Science, Agriculture and Engineering) and FMS (Faculty of Medical Sciences) faculties shared short, snappy, presentations on a number of analytical techniques available in the fields of materials, manufacturing, pharma and biology, among others. Delegates were also invited to take a tour of the facilities and see the equipment first-hand.
The power of industrial-academic collaboration was discussed through in-depth case studies presented by P&G and Northumbrian Water Group. Both stressed the influence of their long-term partnership with the analytical teams at the University in helping them accelerate innovation and new product development.
It’s important for NEPIC to help improve collaboration between regional industry and academia as partnerships are essential for the economic prosperity of the North East. Newcastle University have a number of initiatives to encourage companies of all sizes to collaborate with academics, make the most of facilities and work with students. University experts can provide consultancy services, carry out contract research, deliver CPD training and collaborate on grant submissions.
