These systems have now been renewed until October 2021.
An assessment team from Lloyd’s Register visited the Institute’s offices, laboratories and production facilities over several days during September and October to ensure that the management systems were still compliant with the stringent requirements of the ISO quality and environmental standards.
The Lloyd’s Register Assessment Team reported “The Integrated Management System and associated processes continue to be effective in supporting the needs of the business, meeting the requirements of the Standards, and help the organisation meet client expectations” adding, “Communications throughout the organisation were to an exceptionally high standard, with clear Top Management leadership and commitment evident”.
ISO 9001:2015 helps ensure that the Institute’s clients get consistent, good quality products and services, which in turn brings business benefits. ISO 14001:2015 enables the Institute to continuously evaluate its environmental processes to support its strategic focus centered around research and innovation in advanced materials, low carbon energy and the circular economy.
Chris McDonald, CEO Materials Processing Institute said, “We are extremely pleased to have our ISO quality and environmental management system renewed. It shows we are investing in understanding our clients’ needs and working with them to deliver product and service excellence, whilst continuously reviewing the way we work in terms of environmental and operational considerations. This successful result has demonstrated we have excellent processes and systems in place which is important for both our clients and the wider community”.
The Institute’s quality and environmental audit team is headed up by Carol Patton, Director, Business Services who added, “Everyone at the Materials Processing Institute can be proud of this achievement. Our commitment to providing clients with the highest possible standard of work and customer service is something we strive to maintain and continue to build our reputation on, we work daily to maintain and enhance both the quality and environmental standards.”
