ISO consultancy company, Compliant FM, are delighted to have worked with a prestigious London gallery, ‘Japan House’ in successfully gaining ISO 9001:2015 certification.

Compliant, who are based in Sunderland, work with businesses across the UK who are looking to gain UKAS accredited ISO certification, with Japan House being another recent success story for them.

Japan House are part of a global initiative led by the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with two other Japan Houses based in Los Angeles and Sao Paulo. Located on London’s Kensington High Street, the building includes an exhibition gallery, events space, a Japanese restaurant and thoughtfully curated Japanese products.

The company were looking to gain ISO 9001:2015 (quality management) to ensure a structure was in place for procedures they already carried out and to ensure they had all of their processes detailed in a structured manner.

After getting in touch with Compliant director, Mark Henderson, to discuss the ISO process, they were impressed with Compliant’s personal and one to one approach and were delighted to proceed.

Japan House associate director, Shane Delaney, commented on what gaining the certification has meant for the company:

“We opened to the public in 2018 but became independent just recently, with this independence we wanted to ensure that everything we were doing was compliant and guarantee that we were offering quality for all of our stakeholders with ISO 9001 being a good basis for us to build upon.

“Becoming ISO 9001 certified meant putting a structure in place for things that we already do and making sure that we are ticking all of the boxes. It was a good exercise for us to put everything down in black in white.

“We spoke to a number of different consultants, however, decided that Compliant was the best fit for the Japan House as they offered a one to one more personal approach.

“The initial period was very straightforward, Mark was extremely helpful and very much took the lead. As a company, we are aware that the real work starts now, we are only at the beginning of the process and we need to work with Mark to implement the recommendations and ensure ongoing success.”
