Ingenium’s Innovate2Create process was central to the launch of Engineering Together in the marquee at Ormesby Hall, Middlesbrough on 20 June 2019. Engineering Together brings together the major institutions and professions to provide one voice for engineering in the Tees Valley and a potential road map for other UK regions.
Innovate 2 Create was evolved by Ingenium as a high-impact form of design thinking that accelerates innovation to create better solutions to the challenges facing business and society. It starts with people – human centred design – and applies the creative tools of design, like storyboarding, prototyping, and experimentation to deliver new breakthrough innovations.
At the launch, Innovate 2 Create was utilised to gain input from key stakeholders as to the purpose and future initiatives of Engineering Together and its flagship Great Exhibition of the Tees Valley to showcase current engineering and innovation the region. Quick wins and long-term initiatives were developed.
In the Engineering Together ‘big tent’ providing one voice for engineering are: The Cleveland Institution of Engineers, Institution of Civil Engineers, Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Institution of Engineering Technology, The Mining Institute, Chartered Institute of Building Services, Teesside University, Tees Valley Combined Authority, National Trust, Cleveland Scientific Institute, Engineering UK, Institution of Structural Engineers, Chartered Institute of Highways and Transportation, Institute of Measurement and Control, Institution of Chemical Engineers and the Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce.
