A fully funded package of support has been developed to specifically help North East based SMEs as we slowly emerge from lockdown.

The Supply Chain North East programme has developed a training package to help businesses put themselves in a more secure position, stay strong, recover faster and build for the future.

The RE:CHARGE programme, which starts in September 2020, is a brand new package of support that will arm businesses with the skills and knowledge needed to form solid sales strategies and build strong relationships with potential new clients.

Eligible companies will benefit from 12 hours of business development support and training to ensure they are set fair and recharged to come out of the current situation stronger.

Delivered by partner organisations that span the region’s key sectors, the Supply Chain North East programme works to enable growth opportunities and business diversification by supporting small and medium sized companies through training and mentoring.

Glen Kelly, who delivers SCNE support at partner organisation, NEPIC, said:

“It’s important that businesses use this time to review their current workings and strategies – and how this programme can support them on this journey to ensure they weather the storm.”

“Taking part in the RE:CHARGE programme couldn’t be easier. Companies can simply contact me to express their interest. Once a short diagnostic exercise has been completed to ensure eligibility, then we are good to go. 

“Our remote training programme will be run over three half days and include interactive and hands on exercises to support companies on their learning journey. We are excited to get started and help small businesses across the region recharge and stay strong.”

New Results Director and training coach, Nevil Tynemouth said:

Launched in late 2018, the Supply Chain North East programme has already supported hundreds of businesses across the region who have tapped into the knowledge and networks of partner companies RTC North, Generator, the North East Process Industry Cluster (NEPIC) and the North East Automotive Alliance (NEAA).

North East consultancy, Wellbeing Works, has recently diversified and entered a new market thanks to the support of Supply Chain North East and NEPIC.

Following the firm’s involvement with the programme, Wellbeing Works successfully developed a new tool and secured a client from within the chemical industry.

Wellbeing Works Chief Executive, Hamish Moore, said:

“Taking part in the Supply Chain North East programme gave us an invaluable insight that completely changed our perception of the North East’s chemical industry, as well as a greater understanding of its supply chain and safety within the sector.”

Glowled are another ‘shining’ example. The Washington based lighting specialists have gained knowledge of the process sector to help secure clients and are now a member NEPIC.

Rita Callendar, Glowled’s Lighting Solutions Manager, said:

“The Supply Chain North East proramme has helped us hugely by allowing us to take part in fully funded workshops to support us with our growth strategy moving forward.”
