MASTERS INTERNSHIPS
Tackling and resolving problems can be a real issue for any organisation and dedicating time and resource can place a significant strain on the other aspects of your business. However, help is at hand with the Masters Projects Internship.

WHAT IS AN INTERNSHIP?
• The Internship must be at least 12 weeks, and completed within the set dates: 23rd September 2019 – 17th January 2020
• The internship can be a group project or an individual project (based at your business or at University)
• The internship can offer a team of up to 6 Masters students (cross discipline) working on a project for your business based at the University
• The internship work offered must be at Masters level and relevant to the student’s course/ future career goals
• Although we would prefer the internships to be paid (minimum wage) they can be unpaid

The aim of the internships is to relieve some of your ‘problems’ and provide you with a readymade solution. Our students can deliver expertise in many subject areas and we welcome projects related to a range of topics.

Students available for internships from September are studying the following Masters programmes:
• MSc Civil and Structural Engineering
• MSc Crime Intelligence and Data Analytics
• MSc Electrical Power and Energy Systems
• MSc Energy and Environmental Management
• MSc Food Processing Engineering • MSc Food Science and Biotechnology
• MSc Forensic Science
• MSc Instrumentation and Control Engineering
• MSc Mechanical Engineering
• MSc Oil and Gas Management
• MSc Petroleum Engineering
• MSc Project Management

HOW WILL IT WORK?
Projects will vary in size and nature and must last a minimum of twelve weeks. You will agree a consultancy brief with the Academic Project Lead and together with the Placements Officer, the internship will be advertised and students will be selected in agreement with you. The students will work in small teams/ individually to identify solutions to your specific challenges, and present their findings and recommendations back to you upon completion of the project. Your involvement throughout the process will vary although it is expected that you will have some contact with students.
