Kath Birkin is an integral part of NEPIC and is our longest-standing team member having been with us for 15 years. Before she worked at NEPIC Kath was no stranger, as when NEPIC first formed, she initially rented a desk off us whilst she was undertaking projects for UK Trade and Investment (UKTI).

Kath’s history in advising start-up companies has provided her with an empathy for SMEs and first-hand experience of their needs by working on projects to support them, this in turn aids her role at NEPIC when she speaks with our membership daily.

During her time in industry Kath has worked in international trade at a local and national level, managed various European funded projects and even worked in Norway on a project for the construction of an oil rig.

Kath is our finance expert, managing our invoices for membership and events, and when she’s not doing that, she’s helping at our conferences such as Meet the Members and our Digitalisation Interactive Showcase.

To ensure NEPIC is maximising its potential to help our members, Kath provides regular reports and forecasting to the board, and keeps our operations director, Joanne Fryett, up to date with membership on a weekly basis.

Kath will often be your first point of contact when you join our membership, she will help guide you through the joining process effortlessly, and if it’s something else you have a query on, Kath is happy to signpost you to the best NEPIC team member to help.
