Develop, test and launch innovative new products with PROSPECT Programme

CPI has extensive experience of supporting manufacturers across health, personal care, consumer goods, chemicals, materials, and food & drink sectors to enhance up-scaling, prototyping and applications of their technology.

The PROSPECT programme is CPI’s new European Regional Development Fund project is designed to support SMEs in the North East.

Support for product or process development is available at appropriate scales, ranging from laboratory to pilot and prototyping, in order to accelerate the development and launch of innovative new products.

What this means is that local SMEs can benefit from the expertise and state-of-the-art facilities at CPI, to fast-track the otherwise lengthy and underfunded journey of testing, optimising and introducing new products to market.

Expertise to improve manufacturing processes and product performance

By optimising existing manufacturing processes, enhancing prototyping and the application of technology, the fully funded PROSPECT programme offers expert knowledge to realise efficiencies and solutions for your diversification and commercialisation challenges.

Combining extensive experience and informed straightforward advice, we can support your path to commercialisation. SMEs can access a state-of-the-art suite of equipment and knowledge at NETpark in Sedgefield, County Durham.

Facilities include:

• Access to liquid mixing test rigs
• Use of scale-up facilities

Save time, money and resource

Amongst the expertise and technologies available to boost knowledge, heighten accuracy and enhance product performance are:

 Formulated liquid processing

Use of CPI’s liquids mixing test rig – a set of interlinked scale-up vessels from 1L to 1000L, with batch and continuous mixing, and flexible real-time analytical measurements.

Characterisation, prototyping and process optimisation for powders

Benefit from a versatile testbed powder facility, including: mixing, granulation, tabletting and filling capabilities.

Product stability testing

Use several light scattering techniques and accelerated failure mechanisms of liquid products through a microfluidic chip with variable temperature and pressure parameters to enhance product stability testing.
