Flexitallic’s Applications Team, based at its Service Centre in Teesside, works with engineering clients utilising its unique EN1591-1 Design Software to confirm compliance of pipework systems to the European Standard, which evaluates dynamic operational temperatures and external loadings, specific to all parts of the bolted connection.

Through an alliance with Axoim Engineering Associates, Flexitallic supported a Teesside-based process team responsible for several large-diameter interconnected piping systems at elevated temperature under frequent cyclic loading.

The project was required to enhance integrity compliance as process operations involved frequent high-temperature cyclic duty required on new design piping.

Flexitallic recognises the increase in thermal cycling operations and has developed key specification gasket designs to compensate for loss of preload, ensuring leak free operations are guaranteed from start up to operational phase.

Compliance on COMAH sites is key hence European Standard EN1591-1 Studies form part of the Flexitallic service offering, from design to manufacture.
