Flexitallic, a global leader in industrial sealing solutions, has announced the winners of its second annual Solved! Awards celebrating team members whose technical expertise and innovative problem-solving have had a significant impact on clients worldwide.

This year’s top honour was awarded to Christian Pettersson, with runners-up Nik Thandi and Dan Titus. Regional winners were also recognised for their outstanding contributions.

Christian Pettersson, Business Development Manager for Scandinavia and Baltic States, won Gold for his innovative solution which addressed high-temperature and stress-related joint failures in high pressure Ring Type Joint (RTJ) connections.

To overcome this, Flexitallic developed a specialised gasket, engineered to fit precisely within the existing RTJ groove leading to an extended lifespan for the gaskets without the need for retightening – delivering significant cost savings and enhanced safety.

Silver award winner Nik Thandi, Business Development Manager, India and Sub-Sahara Africa, was recognised for his work using Flexitallic’s Change™ gasket to eliminate leakage issues caused by thermal shock during plant start-ups and shutdowns. The Change™ gasket has been operating flawlessly since installation, removing the need for unscheduled maintenance and setting a new standard for future applications.

Dan Titus, Regional Sales Manager, Upper East Coast, USA, received the Bronze award for addressing critical engineering challenges leading to the use of Thermiculite® materials for exhaust flange gaskets fitted to diesel engines. This solution maintained high-temperature performance, ensured operational integrity, and met specific performance requirements, providing a customised, high-performance outcome for the client.

The Solved! Awards programme, held this year in Paris, reflects Flexitallic’s commitment to fostering a culture of excellence and recognising team members who exemplify dedication, ingenuity, and technical ability. Each winning project has brought measurable value to Flexitallic’s clients by solving critical challenges and enhancing operational efficiencies.
