DASA, the Defence and Security Accelerator, finds and funds innovation to support UK defence and security through a range of innovation challenges, including both themed challenge competitions and an ongoing open call for organisations to propose the problem they are solving, or the additional capability they are developing.

DASA specifically seeks ground-breaking innovations from a broad range of fields and sectors, for solutions that could benefit UK Defence and Security customers.

They are currently seeking information on novel ways to sterilise surgical instruments in austere environments on behalf of the Ministry of Defence.

Past funding challenges have included novel chemicals that could reduce the risk from household products, biosurveillance solutions and bioprocessing waste liquids.

Customers include a range of government departments within Defence and Security such as the Ministry of Defence, the Police, the Department of Transport, and the Home Office.
