The North East Apprenticeship Ambassadors Network is blazing a trail across the region through a series of events during Apprenticeship Week from 4^th – 8^th of March this year aimed at raising awareness of how apprenticeships make a real difference for individuals and businesses.  These events can be accessed via Eventbrite online. 

The North East Apprenticeship Ambassadors Network (NEAAN) is made up of employers and apprentices who act as advocates for apprenticeships – aiming to influence greater business engagement and to make sure we make a substantial impact to the national picture on the take-up of apprenticeships.

They are passionate about how apprenticeships can improve business performance and change people’s lives.  Evidence shows that 78% of employers cited apprenticeships as increasing productivity; while 83% of employers would recommend apprenticeships to another employer.

Companies such as Nissan, Northumbria Water, Glaxo Smith Kline (GSK), Unipres, Caterpiller, Health Care Trusts, Newcastle Building Society, Looker Plc, Lotte Chemical, Sterling Pharma, Hays Travel and Accenture who all passionately believe in the difference that apprenticeships make to their business and these are just a few of the businesses in the NEAAN. 

Attending one of the events during National Apprenticeship Week will provide the opportunity to hear from businesses and apprentices from the network who will provide information on apprenticeships.  They will share their stories hear from employers talking about the real impact of apprenticeships on their businesses and the impact it has had on apprentices themselves.  

Apprenticeships provide an opportunity for individuals to earn while they learn and gain a nationally recognised qualification from level 2 to level 7 depending on the job you are doing. 

The network has produced a video that helps provide a little context and will demonstrate why some individuals opted for the apprenticeship route as a way into the world of work and a way to learn. Watch the video today to see how an apprenticeship can benefit you!
