To recognise and celebrate the region’s young talent from within the process sector, NEPIC are pleased to once more welcome entries for the 2025 Young Achiever Awards. As always, we recognise talent across industry’s five sectors, awarding a winner under each of the following categories: Biotechnology; Pharmaceuticals; Fine & Speciality Chemicals; Commodity & Petrochemicals, and Support & Supply Chain.

The objective of this Award is to encourage & educate primary school aged children on environmental awareness & actions by exploring & suggesting an environmentally themed project. This category celebrates employers who can showcase a strong commitment to employing, nurturing and supporting apprentices. If you can demonstrate the contribution and success that apprenticeships have brought to your organisation, then this an award for you. Judges are looking for exemplar employers who showcase the measurable benefits that apprentices have provided and showcase the benefits gained by developing their workforce through apprenticeship schemes.

The SME of the Year Award will be presented to the small-medium sized company that can best demonstrate a successful approach to developing their sales to the process sector.
Tell us about your journey. We want to hear how you cracked the process sector? Everything from sector interaction; programme co-operation and collaboration; business growth – in terms of both sales and jobs; product or service development; your demonstration of sheer ambition and commitment to winning business in the process sector.

The Communities & Reputation Award will be given to the NEPIC member company that can clearly demonstrate an outstanding communities and reputation campaign across any aspect of social responsibility.
Responsible, caring companies are in a privileged position to help others and in turn be at the heart of the local community. In an ever-challenging business environment, this award will honour the NEPIC member that is making change for the better and is a realistic force for good.

The New for 2025, this award aims to recognise those companies going above and beyond to create, foster and promote an inclusive working environment and champion equal opportunities.
You should be able to demonstrate leadership in driving positive change, creating initiatives that promote equality of opportunity for all employees.
Judges will be looking for examples of support to employees through mentoring, projects and transformative leadership, and a commitment to driving positive change for the industry.

The Innovation Award will honor the NEPIC member company that has pursued game-changing ideas – across product, process and service – within the chemical-processing industries and associated supply chain.
The Award will be judged on how innovative the idea is, how the organisation adopted it and its overall business impact. We are looking for a clear demonstration of a significant impact across a range of 10 listed criteria.

A new category for the 2025 awards, the Industry Project of the Year award celebrates outstanding projects have demonstrated innovation, excellence and had a significant impact.
You should be able to demonstrate originality and creativity in the implementation of the project with clear examples of benefits to the process industry and associated supply chains.
The category is open to projects of any size completed within the last 2 years that have
addressed critical industry challenges and achieved a lasting positive impact on the organisation or wider process industry.

This award is aimed at finding and recognising an individual at any level in industry who has had a sustained career, which has not only had a very significant contribution to the North East Process Sector, but also has been an inspiration to people in the sector.
