Read more >Young civil engineering company, Lynas Engineers, recently received a visit from the Tees Valley Mayor Ben Houchen to discuss the opportunities and benefits for businesses in the region.
The visit for the Wilton Centre, Redcar based company was the perfect opportunity for Lynas Engineers to demonstrate its core capabilities, which include using the latest engineering technology.
The team at Lynas Engineers have over 60 years of combined experience across multiple high-profile projects and have great ambitions to work for major companies across the region and further afield.
Speaking about the visit, Rob Lynas, Managing Director at Lynas Engineers said: “We’re thrilled to have had this chance to demonstrate what Lynas Engineers do and provide the opportunity Ben to meet our extremely talented engineering team that are really driving the business forward.
“Ben is well-known and highly respected for the support he gives to small and medium sized businesses in the Tees Valley, and we are looking forward to sharing our views on the industry and how SME’s such as ours can propel their success even further.
“We’ve grown very quickly over the past two years and we are glad to have discussed with Ben the opportunity to improve forward planning and procurement processes which would greatly benefit young companies such as ours.”
The visit comes on the back of year-on-year growing success for the business with high profile projects being secured and completed throughout the North East including: laying the groundworks for the Endeavour ship replica, adding safety bollards on Ocean Road in South Shields for South Tyneside Council and working on the Cargo Fleet roundabout in Middlesbrough, contracted by Middlesbrough Council.
During the visit Lynas Engineers showcased their latest state-of-the-art software – including their 3D modelling system – which sets the company apart from other civil engineering firms in the region. The company believes it is the only firm of its type to have invested in such sophisticated technology which allows Lynas Engineers to work alongside planners and architects to virtually construct the project in a real world, 3D visualisation.
And such investment has already led to the company winning an award for Best Use of Technology at the Teesside North East Business Awards earlier this year, placing Lynas Engineers at the forefront of its industry with its innovative use of technology.
Mayor Houchen said: “One of my main goals as Mayor is support local SMEs so they can grow. Companies like Lynas Engineers are at the heart of our economy and when they grow we all stand to benefit by boosting our economy and creating jobs.
“Lynas Engineers is a great example of a young, local company using innovative technology to stand out in the market and gain recognition throughout the region.”
Established in 2016, Lynas Engineers specialise in transport, highway and drainage engineering design, providing both new infrastructure and the maintenance of existing work. The company prides itself on delivering engineering excellence using its vast design experience and innovative use of technology.
