NEPIC today announces the appointment of Mark Kenrick as its Chairman with immediate effect. He succeeds Ian Swales who, after three successful years’ service, has announced his retirement from the Board.
Mark has extensive industry and senior leadership experience; he is currently chief executive of Teesside headquartered px group and was previously chief executive of Wilton-based PET manufacturer, Lotte Chemical UK Ltd. Mark originally joined the NEPIC Board in 2015 as vice-chair, having served on the firm’s Leadership Team since 2006.
Speaking about his new role, Mark said:
“I am delighted to be taking over the role of Chairman from Ian. NEPIC is one of the most well-known and respected cluster organisations in Europe. It is at the forefront of bringing everyone involved in the process value chain, in the North East of England, together to highlight and solve issues that impact not just ourselves, but the wider industry in the UK.
“Our industry sector is a vibrant one, with companies from across the globe represented here, making a significant contribution to our local and the national economies. Going forwards we, as NEPIC, must work together with local, national & international bodies across sectors, to continue to attract investment to the region and create an environment that allows our own sector to sustain and grow its overall contribution.
“Ian has been a brilliant champion of NEPIC and I speak for the whole Board in thanking him for his service and dedication over the past three years. We wish him well in his retirement.”
Outgoing chairman, Ian Swales, said:
“I am delighted that Mark has been appointed as Chairman of NEPIC. He is an experienced business leader with an extensive process industry background and local supply chain knowledge, which will be invaluable to the Board. I foresee an exciting and positive future.”
“It has been a privilege to have been Chairman of NEPIC and I thank the Board, Leadership Team, staff and member organisations for their support and friendship over the last three years. I wish Mark and all at NEPIC every success in the future.”
NEPIC is a membership organisation that represents the chemistry-using industries in North East England. Led by industry, the firm works with its member companies to provide a collaborative business environment that supports the growth of the sector and region.
