Read more >We are pleased to welcome Anneshwa Kazi and Callum Wardle to the FEG family.
While Anneshwa joins as Project Process Engineer and Callum joins as Project Design Engineer, both have a real appetite for expanding their experience and developing their skills with the company. We took the time to catch up with FEG Global’s latest additions to the team.
“It’s a smaller team, which means you can get involved in various areas of a project regardless of your set role. After only having been here a couple of weeks, I already felt that my ideas and opinions were valued by the rest of the team and that I was going to gain so much project exposure.”
Anneshwa
What are your backgrounds and what has been your path to FEG Global?
Anneshwa:
After achieving my MEng in Chemical Engineering with Sustainable Industry from Newcastle University, I joined Kimberly-Clark. For 2 and a half years, I oversaw the manufacturing of tissue paper and ensured the processes involved were carried out smoothly. I also acted as the main point of contact for the water treatment unit there, working to reduce energy and waste.
In this role, I also received my Lean Six Sigma Green Belt before I moved over to the converting side of things.
My role at FEG Global allows me to take the specialisms I have developed as well as my broader skills and qualifications and apply these to a number of projects in varying sectors.
Callum:
I graduated from Northumbria University this year with a BEng in Mechanical Engineering. I have a real passion for mechanical design, including both 2D and 3D drawing, as well as modelling. Throughout my time at university it became clear that, while I enjoyed drawing mechanical designs, I was also very good at project management, so this led to me seeking a role that fulfilled both areas. The fit at FEG Global was perfect and I’m excited to get straight into a role that covers both of those things.
“The on-site experience I’ve gained so far has been invaluable. I’ve visited sites and seen how processes are carried out, as well as noting how things might go wrong and how they can be set right while on-site. I get a real thrill from designing something which will eventually be built. For instance, I have already designed a collar that will eventually go around a tank. I had to really work on the ergonomic side of the design, as this will be physically created and I wanted to make sure I got it right. I’ve been made to feel very welcome here and I already feel as though I’m a part of the family, having attended PPMA last month and by visiting several on-site projects already.”
Callum
What has drawn you to FEG Global?
Anneshwa:
I wanted the variety of industry and exposure to different processes that a more consultancy-based role can give. FEG Global works across a range of different sectors and I’m really looking forward to supporting multiple clients and problem-solving and collaborating with a range of teams.
Callum:
I was drawn to this role as I could see clearly how I could transfer the experiences and skills I had gained at university to the workplace.
I was also attracted to the way FEG Global feels like a family. I wanted to be thrown in at the deep end and the close-knit nature of this team told me that I would be able to contribute straight away.
What are you looking forward to achieving at FEG Global?
Anneshwa:
I’m really excited to add value to projects and I’m looking forward to working on many different projects. The variety of clients and projects means no two days here will be the same. I’m looking forward to meeting project stakeholders and being able to help different businesses solve their individual challenges. I’d also like to achieve my IChemE Chartership, while working with other companies to expand my experience. In particular, FEG Global gives the opportunity to get involved in equipment design.
Callum:
I simply want to get some experience in the field, which is why I wanted to join FEG Global. The design side of my role is my passion, but I’m also aiming to take the experience I gain and add value to every project I work on. This was definitely something I wanted to achieve quite quickly after graduating from university.
“Both Anneshwa and Callum have hit the ground running and are welcome additions to the FEG Global family. The continued strengthening of our team will allow us to continue our growth in key UK and international segments and we look forward to embedding both of our new recruits fully into our processes and values.”
