Read more >Abigail has recently celebrated one year with us at NEPIC, in this short time she has concentrated her efforts to help our members connect with one another on key topics such as decarbonisation, clean growth and innovation.
Upon joining us, Abigail had just graduated from Teesside University with a first-class honours degree in Aerospace Engineering and a particular interest in lifecycle analysis to progress to a Net Zero future, making her the perfect fit to help us drive forward the Net Zero agenda.
As our Innovation Executive, Abigail works closely alongside our other technical experts, Ryan Siddall (head of technical), Chris Crooks (sustainability executive) and Elham Esfehani (Innovate UK project lead), to advance key projects and provide technical insight to our members.
Abigail has played a key role in the chemical mapping project funded by TransFIRe Hub, which aims to map the chemical flows within Teesside, focusing on waste valorisation to identify opportunities for investment and collaboration within our membership.
She has also worked alongside Teesside University’s Industrial Digitalisation Technology Centre and associate dean of R&I, David Hughes, looking at digitalising the plastics supply chain with a mapping tool, which will soon feature in Materials World magazine.
More recently, Abigail did a fantastic job of pulling together our Clean Growth Conference, which was attended by over 200 delegates, featuring speakers from industry giants such as bp and Sembcorp.
“My role has evolved massively since joining back in 2022, I’ve went from supporting on events, to now running them and being involved in many other important projects along the way.
“It’s been great to play a part in several events and projects to work towards the collective goal of decarbonising our cluster and helping our members achieve their Net Zero objectives. This is something I look forward to continuing in the future.”
If you need support understanding industry activity in the region, the latest technical events or knowledge on chemical flows within the sector, Abigail is happy to chat through this. Get in touch via email: abigail.bell@nepic.co.uk
