Working as a site-based process engineer previously at Synthite and Huntsman, Jay brings a strong skill-set to the Axiom Process Safety Engineering team including an excellent reputation for relationship building and high performance with experience in major projects. These include project management, detailed design for uprate projects, commissioning of new plant equipment, continuous process and plant improvements and catalyst life optimisation.
Jay’s career journey includes extensive Process Safety engineering design experience in pressure relief, hazard studies (HAZID, HAZOP), layer of protection analysis (LOPA), incident investigation, Management of Change (MOC) and COMAH compliance for onshore facilities within the specialty chemical sectors, in particular formaldehyde and polyurethanes.
He also brings significant operational experience in his previous role as an operations engineer through Wood providing operational readiness services for various offshore and onshore projects, including developing operating procedures and O&Ms within the Oil, Gas, petrochemical and specialty chemical sectors.
Jay joins Axiom at a key stage in the company’s growth as its Process Safety team continues to expand with the capability to deliver a complete suite of services from support with License to Operate, Risk Assessment, Implementation of solutions through to Assurance across the full asset life cycle. Jay will work as part of the Axiom Process Safety Engineering and Process Safety Consultancy team which is seamlessly integrated with Axiom’s in-house Inspection & NDT, Materials and Mechanical specialists to deliver support across a diverse range of industrial and energy sectors.
Jay said, “I am incredibly excited to be given the opportunity to be part of the Axiom team as a Process Safety Engineer. This is a thrilling time for Axiom to expand into Process Safety with the drive to a net zero carbon future.
