The project targets the synthesis, characterisation and modelling of solid electrolyte materials for use in all-solid-state batteries. Materials of choice will include inorganic mixed-anion compounds, anti-perovskite and spinel compounds. Core to this project will be the development of in-operando x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) methods to probe the evolution of the bulk materials and its interfaces as a function of cycling.
Results will inform the design of new materials with improved ion mobility and electrochemical performances. We are flexible in terms of the materials system to be explored, the choice of system can be driven by the industrial partner.
