Read more >Recruitment colleagues across NRL’s technical engineering recruitment business have helped earn the organisation the Inclusive+ Recruiter status.
Awarded by the Association of Professional Staffing Companies (APSCo), the certification is for recruitment organisations who have invested in equity, diversity and inclusion training for their colleagues, with Recruiters successfully completing APSCo’s dedicated Inclusive+ Recruiter training course.
Throughout the course colleagues discovered how changes to the recruitment process can help to engage underrepresented talent, how job adverts can be written more inclusively to attract a broader candidate pool and the role unconscious bias plays in candidate shortlisting. As well as how to initiate conversations with clients to understand their equity, diversity and inclusion objectives, providing all the necessary tools and insight to drive forward diversity.
The certification continues NRL’s desire to play their part and advance representation across the engineering sectors in which they operate. With NRL having previously secured APSCo’s Member Committed to Diversity Status in 2019.
A complex topic, with a great deal of work still needed across the engineering industry to level the playing field, NRL’s sustained focus also includes initiatives such as the Armed Forces Covenant, Social Mobility Pledge and educational outreach activities delivered by their team of experienced Recruiters and Branch Directors.
Committed to putting into practice the knowledge gained from the dedicated training, NRL’s network of regional recruitment branches are now looking to formalise their support for clients wanting to make positive changes to their recruitment strategy – to reach different candidates and more diverse communities.
Discussing the Inclusive+ Recruiter certification NRL Group Chief Executive David Redmayne commented;
“We’re delighted to have earned this important certification, after colleagues have dedicated time to learn more about equity, diversity and inclusion within the recruitment process. It’s been a focus for our business for some time now, as we look for opportunities to support our clients to change the engineering workforce to a more representative mix of people.
Being able to draw on APSCo’s training course to further the knowledge of our recruiters is a great way to continue on our journey. I look forward to seeing how conversations with our clients progress in the coming months as we support them with their own equity, diversity and inclusion objectives. ”
