Read more >Following a meeting with NEPIC members and Andy McDonald MP, and our explanation of ‘Private Wire’ energy users missing out on the government’s energy relief scheme, Andy has asked a question in the House of Commons (29th November), as follows:
“NEPIC advise me that major companies on Teesside, currently obtaining their energy via a private wire relationship, don’t qualify for EBRS.
With some major employers paying millions more for their energy they face the very real prospect of ceasing operations and moving overseas.
Will the Minister meet with me to discuss how their concerns may be addressed?”
The Minister advised that they were aware and were working on it and also agreed that his fellow Minister would meet with me to discuss.
I will let you know when I hear further.”
Subsequently, Mr McDonald has met with a BEIS minister to discuss this, today (7th Dec).
