Read more >It is a known fact that supply chain across the country can come up against invisible barriers to success and so when faced with these challenges – what can companies do to overcome them? Lynas Engineers provided a solution.
Bringing together SME’s from across the North East, Lynas Engineers’ Preferred Partners scheme was established with collaborative working in mind. Combining specialist skills from different partners to be able to deliver on projects previously inaccessible to the individuals alone. By combining efforts, the Preferred Partners are successfully securing new projects, working as a team to deliver exceptional results.
Rob Lynas, Managing Director of Lynas Engineers stated, “The idea of our Preferred Partners scheme is really simple, it’s working together – better. There is so much opportunity in the Tees Valley and beyond with incredible projects being announced almost constantly – and while that is fantastic news for the region, there’s always the risk of companies ‘chasing the headlines’ only to find that the work has already been awarded, or that their in-house skills can’t compete for a full scope of works. We wanted to find a solution that allowed smaller businesses to collaborate and allow local companies to work on these iconic local projects.”
With multiple Partners joining the breakfast event in July, co-chaired by Jessica Williams from Just Williams, held at the Wilton Centre in Redcar, the morning was hailed a great success – with many asking for the date of the next meeting.
Simon Martin, Group Business Development Director for MGL Group said, “As a local business we are passionate about working throughout our region. Project wins in Teesside have increased and working collaboratively with Lynas Engineers [through Preferred Partners] is proving most successful. Good companies keep good company”.
With the levelling up agenda in the North East continuing, the opportunities are impressive – but with significant challenges facing local SME’s, the time to work together is now.
Lewis Hughes, Business Development Manager for the North East and Yorkshire for Esh Group said, “It is fantastic to see these projects being announced in local media, but what we’re seeing is a shortage of staff in key fields, and it’s being felt everywhere. There’s a lot happening locally, but that will not last forever so working together to secure these projects is so important.”
The Preferred Partners programme has welcomed dozens of local businesses to its network and plans to grow further; connecting businesses with each other and generating effective partnerships.
