This is an unmissable opportunity to shape the economic future of a region with 200 years of industrial heritage. There are few roles that offer this level of influence in science, technology and engineering in the northeast England.
If you’re ambitious to progress professionally and looking for a move that will cement your reputation, this could be a perfect opportunity. Or perhaps, you’ve built a substantial career in the process sector, then this could be the pinnacle of your achievements – a chance to share the fruits of your experience.
You’ll join NEPIC, the not-for-profit organisation that exists to ensure that the Process sector in north-east England has the connections, investment and innovation it needs to thrive long into the future.
Your brief will be to manage and drive forward technology-focused projects. It’s a unique chance to work on a macro level – to take an overview of technological trends in the region’s process sector.
You may well already be working in our region, so you won’t need us to emphasise the importance of STEM here: that the process sector comprises more than 1,400 companies, employing 190,000 people and exports £12 billion each year – the UK’s only net exporting region.
You’ll be at the heart of its continued prosperity, working with regional government and industry decision-makers, to secure inward investment and deliver economic goals.
You’ll forge meaningful connections, cross-pollenating ideas and accelerating development. You’ll influence vital areas, such as biotechnology, decarbonisation and plastic recycling, playing your part in progressing the UK’s energy transition.
In short, you’ll be a catalyst for change.
We’re open-minded about the person we’re looking for.
Professionally, you’ll need to convince us that you have the strong knowledge of the process industry to win respect and build rapport. You’ve probably amassed plenty of experience as a project manager in technical, highly regulated organisations. Ideally in the process industry on Teesside, that would be an asset.
Personally, we’re looking for a proven leader; specifically, someone who’s shown they can bring together teams of people and deliver results. Assertive, tenacious and intellectually, agile, your colleagues would recognise you as a strategic thinker and capable communicator.
Beyond that, one of your goals will be to increase engagement and manage key accounts, so it’s important that you’re client centric. Naturally, you’ll need to be enthusiastic about technology too, with well-developed IT skills of your own.
