Biodiversity Net Gain is being mandated in planning legislation, with some Local Authorities already implementing a requirement for this.
The impact is that every planning submission require a Biodiversity assessment to calculate the Biodiversity value of the site and furthermore for all submissions to provide a method to create a Biodiversity Net Gain.
This briefing will explain:
- What Biodiversity Net Gain is. It will provide an update on the current position with respect what planning authorities require.
- The briefing will introduce good practice in designing development projects to follow Biodiversity
- Net Gain Principles and provide an update on DEFRA’s new Biodiversity Metric 2.0 and emerging British Standards.
