Read more >In response to COVID-19, and to help the NHS in their fight, Teesside Hospice has increased the number of end of life patients we care for.
At this uncertain time, we are doing everything we can to make sure our care continues and we can support people.
However, over the next three months, Teesside Hospice will not be able to raise the £690,000 we would have normally raised through fundraising and voluntary income.
As you will understand, the demand for our services is incredibly high and we expect that to continue as other parts of the NHS refocus to cope with Coronavirus.
Right now, our nurses are stepping forward, ready to do whatever it takes to ensure those staying with us, some of the most vulnerable people in our community, continue to receive the highest quality, compassionate care and support.
But many other parts of our hospice are changing.
Following the guidance from the government we have closed all 11 of our charity shops and we have had to cancel all fundraising events for the foreseeable future.
Whilst we can postpone our events, we can’t postpone the need to deliver our care.
We want to make sure people with terminal illnesses still get the care they need, so nobody dies scared and in pain.
We are truly humbled by the support you have already given us, however we need your support now more than ever.
Our daily PPE cost alone is £19.40 for every nurse, which is £176.40 every day!
We have recently launched our COVID-19 Emergency Response Appeal to try and bridge the £690,000 funding gap. We would really appreciate any help you can give, no matter how large or small a donation, it will make a huge difference.
