UK registered businesses can apply for a share of up to £20m to respond to new and urgent needs in UK and global communities during and after Covid-19.
Your application must demonstrate both realistic and significant benefits for society (including communities, families and individuals) or an industry that has been severely impacted and/or permanently disrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Your proposal must focus on a clear need and the proposed innovation to address it.
You must have the ability to deliver the project during the working restrictions of Covid-19 pandemic.
You can claim 100% of your project costs up to the maximum of £50,000. These will be paid in advance of the project start date.

A £1million fund to fast-track innovation to aid the Armed Forces in the fight against Coronavirus has been launched by the Defence and Security Accelerator (DASA).
“This is a broad call for innovation, meaning we are open to any idea from anybody to solve or tackle any challenge. If you think you have a great idea that can help the UK’s defence capacity in these unprecedented times, then we want to hear from you.”
The funding is a new strand of DASA’s Open Call for innovation.
The Coronavirus strand will initially be open for one week from today – closing midday on 15 April – for rapid assessment of the first wave of proposals, but DASA will continue to accept proposals after 15 April for consideration.

The awards will provide travel and subsistence funding to appropriately qualified public health professionals, clinicians and academics who wish to offer science and technical advice to support the immediate response to COVID-19 in low and middle-income countries.
The awards are open to applicants who have a substantive position at a UK higher education institution or research organisation.
Applications are open until further notice, on a rolling basis.
Applications should ideally be submitted at least 2 weeks before planned travel.

UKRI will support excellent proposals of up to 18 months duration which meet at least one of the following:
Proposals will be accepted from anyone who is normally eligible to apply for UKRI funding. Proposals should be sent through this route for any research or innovation relevant to the above regardless of funding Council or whether relevant to multiple Councils.
There is no closing date – proposals can be submitted at any time.

A new venture fund is offering grants of $10,000 to $500,000 to coronavirus researchers, and every grant decision will be made in less than 48 hours. The fund, Fast Grants, has raised $10 million from 10 backers including Paul Graham, Stripe cofounders John and Patrick Collison, and LinkedIn cofounder Reid Hoffman.

BSAC is launching a COVID-19 funding call to support researchers in better understanding and addressing COVID-19 outbreak. Grants of up to £25,000 to support research projects. Exceptional grants in excess of £25,000 will be considered. Applications are open worldwide to all organisations and will be subject to a rapid peer review process.

ESA launches an Announcement of Opportunity (AO) inviting companies to submit their ideas for deploying and demonstrating services to respond to the emergency that Europe, and especially Italy, is facing because of the spread of the coronavirus. It is mandatory to develop solutions based on at least one space asset (satellite navigation, satellite communications and/or satellite earth observation). Up to €1m per project. Closes 20th April 2020.

As part of the Welsh Government’s response to the Coronavirus outbreak, we are looking at supporting Innovative projects that can have a direct impact on how we fight the virus. The Covid-19 Resilience Innovation Project Support can be used to fund;
The production of medical devices, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and the delivery of sanitising products are all potential areas that could be addressed by the support.
Closes 30th June 2020. No specific funding amount given. Only open to businesses in Wales.
