Parker Bioscience Filtration has appointed a new Product Manager to oversee the development and promotion of its solutions for the biopharmaceutical manufacturing industry.
Paul Hymus has moved to the position of Product Manager (Filtration) from his previous position of Senior Development Engineer at Parker Bioscience Filtration.
Parker Bioscience Filtration is part of Parker Hannifin, the world’s leading diversified manufacturer of motion and control technologies and systems.
It designs, supplies and delivers whole systems for both upstream and downstream pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical manufacturing.
With sites in Birtley, UK and Oxnard, California, Parker Bioscience Filtration supports companies both locally and globally in improving process control, efficiency and supply chain security throughout their production and packaging processes.
Parker Bioscience Filtration provides integrated bioprocessing solutions that speed up development times, increase efficiency and safety to enable reproducible quality. Incorporating the expertise within SciLog® and domnick hunter, Parker Bioscience Filtration combines filtration, single-use fluid-handling systems and sensors into automated single-use solutions.
Paul has nearly 30 years of experience in developing process filtration products and started his career with Parker Bioscience Filtration (formerly Parker domnick hunter) as an engineering apprentice in 1990. He progressed to
Junior Product Development Engineer in 1994 before being promoted to product development engineer in 1999 – a role he held for four years before taking up the position of Senior Development Engineer, where he developed a number of products for the global healthcare market.
In his new role, Paul will support the launch of new products, supply training to end users and help to develop new solutions by closely interacting with Parker Bioscience Filtration’s global customer base and working hand in hand with Parker’s design team.
Parker Bioscience Filtration recently unveiled brand new, expanded facilities at its Birtley site; this follows the completion of a major, phased investment programme.
The programme included the creation of state-of-the-art office and conferencing spaces, extended laboratories and new clean room, manufacturing and testing facilities.
The investment programme has also seen the launch of The SciLog Suite, a facility which will provide Parker
Bioscience Filtration’s customers with the opportunity to test and optimise key unit operations within their production process, supporting process development.
Paul Hymus said:
“I’m delighted to have the opportunity to bring my experience to bear in my new role as Product Manager (Filtration).
I’m very proud of what Parker Bioscience Filtration has achieved during my time here and how it has made a very real difference to biopharmaceutical manufacturing operations.
To be playing a key role in product promotion and development is therefore truly exciting and I’m looking forward to building even closer relationships with the international biopharmaceutical community.
“With the investment in our Birtley premises, Parker Bioscience Filtration’s UK operations are flourishing and it’s fantastic to be opening up the next chapter of my career here.”
Kris Holmes, General Manager, of Parker Bioscience Filtration, added:
“Paul’s progression since he joined us in 1990 is proof of our ability to provide employees with a strong career development path.
“As a long standing member of the Parker team, Paul has made a major contribution to the growth of Parker Bioscience Filtration and it’s fantastic that he will be shaping and promoting our range as our new Product Manager (Filtration), drawing on his proven problem solving abilities and great depth of technical knowledge.”
