Read more >Our first Charity Golf Tournament and Summer Social at Rockliffe Hall Resort was a great success raising £1,000 for High Tide Foundation and Children Challenging Industry.
Team RTC North scooped the tournament title after taking on one of Europe’s most challenging but stunning courses. Mini-contests and fundraising activities were placed around the championship course, allowing players to have a brief break from the stern test at hand.
Players took part in the Pink Ball Contest – a new concept to many of our golfers, along with beat the pro, nearest to pin and longest drive. The halfway house offered the opportunity to take a short break whilst they chatted to charity partner Children Challenging Industry, generously donated to the Slaley 4-ball raffle and enjoyed some light-hearted fun picking their ‘weapon’ of choice for a putting competition with a difference!
Once back at the Clubhouse, teams were joined by industry colleagues and guests for an evening BBQ and charity raffle.
Mark Easby, MD at Better and Chairman of High Tide Foundation, delivered an inspiring and insightful speech about his personal journey into the world of work and role we must all play in supporting our region’s young people by highlighting opportunities, offering meaningful experiences and raising aspirations.
Investing in people is fundamental to our shared success – from strong foundations for children in schools, high quality education and training in further and higher education to investing in our current workforce through professional development.
Children Challenging Industry focuses on highlighting STEM opportunities for young people by building visible links between science education and its application in industry. Through this work, they aim to increase the number of children considering a future within industry and science careers, whilst developing positive relationships with industry.
High Tide is an independent Charitable foundation, funded by businesses on Tees Valley, that delivers life changing career experiences. High Tide open young people’s eyes and minds to Tees Valley’s diverse career opportunities by providing real life work experience that increases understanding, improves skills, raises confidence, and builds aspirations.
NEPIC look forward to supporting and promoting these outstanding and hugely successful programmes and will build on the success of this first charity fundraiser with another event planned for summer 2020.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank our raffle donors – Rockliffe Hall, North East Automotive Alliance, Slaley Hall, Wynyard Hall and Wolvisition Management Services. And on behalf of the NEPIC team and our charity partners, offer our golfers and guests our sincere gratitude for your support and generosity.
