Thorne & Derrick International, based in the UK, today announce the signing of a Sole UK Distributor Agreement with regional exclusivity to the North East of England for the SecurEx range of ATEX & IECEx Certified access control and security products.

SecurEx are the world leading manufacturer of specialist security solutions for hazardous areas and explosive atmospheres.

The Distribution Agreement includes their World’s First ATEX & IECEx Certified Magnetic Door Lock – the ATEX Maglock used in conjunction with a card reader system is a door locking product to provide access control and security for workers entering zoned hazardous areas and explosive atmosphere workplaces.

Innovation With Safety Locked In

To ensure site safety and security the Ex door lock with ATEX certification is increasingly specified by the hazardous area and process industries – this achieves compliance with European legislation according to the ATEX Directive to guarantee the health and safety of workers in potentially explosive atmospheres.

Until now, security providers and contractors, have traditionally installed “safe area” non-ATEX and now non-compliant door locks due to the lack of ATEX compliant magnetic locks (maglocks) in the marketplace.
